If something isn't working, it helps to include your iPhone model and a Diagnostics report: in River Tally, go to Settings › Diagnostics and tap Send Report.
Common questions
Where are my receipts saved?
In the folder you chose for each property in your iCloud Drive. Receipts without a property folder go to River Tally's own folder, on your iPhone (Files › On My iPhone › Tally), or in iCloud Drive if Settings › Keep in iCloud Drive is on.
Will I lose my receipts if I delete the app?
Receipts in iCloud Drive are kept. Receipts kept only on your iPhone are deleted along with the app, so we recommend turning on Settings › Keep in iCloud Drive, or using Settings › Back Up Receipts.
The details were read wrongly. What can I do?
Check and correct the details before saving. Reading is most accurate on iPhones with Apple Intelligence; on other iPhones, scanning in good light with the receipt flat helps. Corrections to a shop's name can be remembered for next time.
How do I get my receipts into a spreadsheet?
Use Export in the app to create a spreadsheet file (CSV) for any properties and dates. The details are also stored inside each receipt picture, so tools such as Excel Power Query can read them straight from the folder.
How do I move to a new iPhone?
Sign in with the same Apple Account. Your settings and iCloud Drive receipts come across automatically. You may need to reconnect each property's folder in Settings.
Can I share a property folder with someone else?
Yes. Share the folder from the Files app, and each person adds it in River Tally. Their receipts appear for everyone with access.
Does River Tally give tax advice?
No. It's a record-keeping tool. Check your figures with your accountant before submitting a VAT return.

No. There's no account, no tracking and no server. See our privacy policy.
