Who we are

River Tally is made by River Investment Partners LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales (number OC457091), registered office Flat 23, Russell Chambers, London WC1A 2JU. You can contact us at support@riverinvest.co.uk.

What River Tally collects

Nothing. River Tally doesn't send any information to us or to anyone else. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it doesn't make network connections of its own.

How your receipts are read

When you scan or import a receipt, the text is read on your iPhone using Apple's built-in text recognition and, where available, Apple Intelligence running on the device. The receipt picture and its details are not uploaded for reading.

Where your receipts are kept

Receipts are saved as picture files in places you choose:

• on your iPhone, in River Tally's own folder (shown in the Files app), or
• in your iCloud Drive, in River Tally's folder or in folders you pick for each property.

Files in iCloud Drive are stored by Apple under your Apple Account and Apple's own privacy policy. We have no access to them. If you share a folder with someone else, they can see the receipts in it.

Settings

Your River Tally settings, such as your name, property names and rules, are kept on your iPhone and synced through your own iCloud account, so they come back if you reinstall and match across your devices. We can't see them.

Camera, photos and files

River Tally uses the camera only when you tap to scan a receipt. It only opens photos, PDFs and files that you choose to import or share with it.

Face ID

If you turn on the app lock, Face ID or Touch ID is handled entirely by iOS. River Tally never receives your face or fingerprint data.

iPhone search

River Tally can add your receipts to iPhone search (Spotlight) so you can find them quickly. This index is kept on your iPhone by iOS and isn't shared with us.

Diagnostics reports

Settings › Diagnostics shows information to help fix problems. It stays on your iPhone unless you choose Send Report and send it yourself. A report includes your property and folder names and file names from any recent errors, but not receipt pictures or amounts. If you send one to us, we use it only to help you and delete it when the issue is resolved.

Emails to us

If you email us for support, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We don't add you to any mailing list or share your details.

Children

River Tally isn't aimed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone.

Your rights

Because River Tally doesn't collect personal data, we hold none about you from using the app. If you've emailed us and want to see or delete that correspondence, contact us at support@riverinvest.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how River Tally handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
